I changed my thought process last year and decided to set a weight loss goal for the year, not a resolution. Resolutions are guaranteed to fail. Goals can be a failure too but they're not as likely as a resolution.
I'm now a new follower via the FitFluential weight loss group. You are doing AMAZING! Keep up the great work!
BTW, I totally love thumb holes in my sleeves. I hate it when I'm wearing non-running long sleeve shirts and there are no thumb holes. I feel naked! LOL
There is no finish line to fitness, this I have learned in the past couple of years. Keep moving forward!
Thank you so much for your heartfelt vlog. I was just lamenting the passing of another year where I have not accomplished my fitness resolutions. But you know what? I'm going to start by making monthly goals and then weekly goals to get me where I want to be THIS year. I need to lose about 120 pounds and this is the year will do it - one goal at a time. May your upcoming year be filled with much joy, many blessings, and great accomplishments.
Check out the Weekly Chase that Miss Molly & RoadRunnerGirl are hosting. Here's the link to the first one of the year http://mollyritterbeck.com/2013/01/01/the-weekly-chase-1-2013-challenge-included/
It's a great way to get encouragement and be held accountable for weekly & monthly goals!

OK girl....made me cry watching this vlog!!! U are SOOOO awesome and you've come so far from the girl you were 1 year ago. I'm so proud of you and so happy you decided to do that challenge with me :-) I really need to FOCUS this coming year, get the weight off & keep it off!!!
My goal for 2013 is to get off the couch! I'm no stranger to hard strength training as I was deadlifting and squatting 75lbs. I also want to get rid of a little bit of junk/processed food that still makes an appearance.
What a super video Mindy! How wonderful to hear that you are the happiest you have ever been and that your parents have been so loving and supportive. Proud to know you!
Mindy, I just watched your video and it was very moving. You are not alone as many people deal with the same weight loss issues as you. Goal setting is much more affective than the "new years resolution". I have been dealing with clients who feel the same way you do about weight loss for over 20 years and that is why I wrote this book. My book is called "I'm Core Fit: Success in One Day for the Rest of Your Life!" and I know it will help you! I hope you choose to read it. Even though I do not know you personally, I wish you all the best in 2013!
What an awesome vlog Mindy! I am so happy we have gotten to know each other better this year. I can't wait to continue getting to know you in 2013! You are such an inspiration to me and to so many!
You are amazing! I needed to watch this post today. I'm in the same boat you were last year. 2 years ago I was running, being active, losing weight and I let it all go. I made a promise to myself 2 weeks ago that this year would be my year. Watching your vlog, seeing your emotions was like watching myself (definitely a funnier self). I know that this time next year, I'll be just as proud, just as happy, and just as healthy as you are today! Oh and I share you ADD!!!
Mindy, I jsut want to tell you that I too have been on that journey since Jan 2011 after my dad died. I remember him telling me don't let yourself go Hol. Like you, I can say I am a runner now. These past few months I have developed some plantar fasciitis issues in my left foot. battled through but have seriously slowed down. UGH! I always look forward to seeing your quotes and images on your site and hearing from you like on your video here about your life experiences. Thank you so much for keeping it real, and positive! You are doing a great job and I know lots more of great things are in your future :) I look forward to doing that 1/2 I wanted to do last year and a tough mudder. One great thing is I've gotten my 2 kids and husband out there doing 5k's w/ me. Such an awesome feeling when we are active w/ other health concious people. Thanks for all your inspiration girl! ~Holly (your friend from Mindy's fitness Journey)
